Why I Invented the Pilot Sleeve™.

I saw shops having problems with rims & hubs not mating up well & leading to a lot of radial runout. Quite often it was blamed on the tire tech not getting the rim and tire mated up right, when it was the worn rim or pilots on the hub.
The industry needed something that fit all the wheels in all their positions, would not corrode, and would not interfere with Clamping Force and cause a wheel off condition, and was not expensive.
While other were making Steel or Brass sleeves to slide on the stud to center the wheel (making it stud centric), these have multiple part numbers and huge inventory costs, or others made Pins to screw on 3 studs before mounting the wheel so the rim would center on them, and installing 7 nuts to hold the rim in place, removing the pins, putting on the last 3 nuts and torquing the wheels. Which was very labor intensive! Others put skirts or sleeves on the flange nuts, which had a high cost both to sell and to inventory, with 5 different part numbers, these also could drag on the rim on installation and cause incorrect torque and incorrect Clamping Force and possible wheel off conditions.
So I made the Pilot Sleeve™. Something that could not corrode, one part number for both stud sizes 22mm, and 20mm. Could be used in any position, Front, Drive, Trailer, Pusher, Bridge, inner and Outer. Super fast and easy to install and definitely won't interfere with Clamping Force! Eliminating any chance of a wheel off condition, and costs just pennies.
